The City of Clovis Recreation Section runs 5 sessions of programs a year, Winter, Spring Summer I, Summer II and Fall. We offer two types of youth programs, youth leagues and youth camps. Both leagues and camp style
programs are offered at the Clovis Recreation Center (3495 Clovis Ave.).
The Recreation Section youth leagues are for kids in kindergarten through Jr. High. We are currently running 5 different youth leagues a year, Winter Youth Basketball, Summer Youth Basketball, Girls Summer II Basketball, Summer II T-ball and Fall Indoor Soccer. With each league you will receive scheduled practices each week and one game a week. Each participant will receive a team uniform, team picture and an end of the season tournament. These leagues would not be possible without volunteer help. All the teams are coached by volunteers. No experience is needed to coach a team. If you wish to volunteer and coach a team you will be required to fill out the coaching packet, be fingerprinted at the City's expense, annually complete concussion/head injury awareness and sudden cardiac arrest training. The recreation camp programs are skills and drills programs, our camps start at 2 years old and run through Jr High. These classes will be at a specific day of the week for a specific length of time and a specific number of weeks. The goal of these programs is to introduce participants to new activities, skill development, teamwork, and to have fun.
